Traveling from Labuan Bajo (Flores) by ferry
You can take the ferry from Labuan Bajo to Sape. The journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, departing around 10 a.m. and arriving around 4 p.m. From Sape, you can continue to Bima by taxi or on the standby bus. Once in Bima, an overnight stay is recommended—Marina Inn Hotel is one convenient option.

Pickups from Sumbawa Besar or Moyo Island include free transport for your motorbikes—no extra charge.

Another way to travel from Moyo Island to Tambora is by taking a motorbike taxi across the island to its northeast coast (Rp 400,000 per bike), followed by a small outrigger crossing over Saleh Bay to Calabai (Rp 250,000). You can also do this route using your own motorbikes.
